Nkuru School/College/Community Sport Development Project

Sections A & B form the current campus and the Top Field has been bought for the initial development of a games and sports field. In order to fit a suitable size football pitch with sufficient area around it a 2nd area of land is required and the plan is then to develop a pavilion and gym. Both pieces of land can be cleared easily as there are no trees, however the lower part of the Bottom Field drops away and is better for development for the gym and pavilion.

Access to the Sports Area is readily accessible from the School, College and from the main road for the wider Community.

Two phase proposal

Phase 1:

• clear the existing land, grade it, seed it;

• install boundary fence to keep grazing animals off the pitches

• purchase Bottom Field

• improve the community path

Phase 2:

• develop additional land

• build 2 storey pavilion

• install hoops, tennis pitch etc

• engage with community and health organisations to raise awareness of availability of the facilities

• engage a centre manager to oversee the facilities and build a programme of events
