Julius Project Lead in Uganda
Vision
Community-led transformation in Uganda is a channel for Link International’s charitable objectives. This ABCD Model advances the charity’s work of relieving sickness and financial hardship, promoting health, and advancing education through four interconnected initiatives. Each initiative fosters dignity for beneficiaries, ownership by the community, and transformational impact on local well-being. The Presentation below outlines the programme.

Julius’ Proposal based on the
ABCD Model
When people contribute their talents and resources, they gain a stake in the outcome. This ensures the projects continue thriving long after initial support ends, resulting in true transformation rather than temporary relief.
Julius summarises:
“The vision paints a compelling picture of community-driven change: healthy children ready to learn, schools equipped to deliver quality education, youths gaining skills for a better future, and citizens uniting to improve their own villages. It’s an inspiring yet practical blueprint that mirrors Link International’s mission and values every step of the way delivering measurable improvements in health, education, and income, while empowering Ugandans to become authors of their own development story".
Pilot Project
Project: Classroom in a box
Location: Mpigi
REACH: 5 schools (500 children)
Time-scale: 12 months
Budget: £2,400.00
The project scope is short-term, but high impact, in order to achieve a positive outcome for the children and schools, but also to enable the team to gain experience working in a community, assessing other community assets and gaining the confidence of the community to explore other areas of development.
The Budget supports:
21 Box kits
Travel and time allowances for 2 trainers
Julius training the trainers
Teacher Training Day
Assessment (materials and data collection)
An example of classroom/school in a box can be seen here on the UNICEF website.
This pilot project would source appropriate materials in Uganda and select a box suitable for the purpose - we will be looking for sponsor schools in UK for the boxes (£50 per filled box)
