""Amelia Barber Project - Trade-link

Amelia visited Uganda in February to fact find for a craft trade project - TRADE-LINK. She intends to develop this in very poor communities providing a means of trading their craft artefacts in UK in small local outlets and linking these UK communities with the communities in Uganda where the goods are made. She will then return in July and August to develop the project further and spend time with the local communities establishing a relationship with the people and work alongside them making the artefacts.

Below are pictures of the refugee community - these are mainly women who have fled Northern Uganda, their husbands killed by the LRA

The refugees, mainly women and children, work in the quarries and break stone by hand to make gravel. Trade-Link hopes to free them from this gruelling work
