Mairi succeeds in climbing the Matterhorn for her mum’s memory, for her dad’s inspiration and for Chritina’s dream.

John and Mairi say:  ”We climbed four peaks, one over 3000 metres and three over 4000 metres, these being the Jagerhorn, Lagginhorn and Allalinhorn together and the Matterhorn and Gran Paradiso separately.  We did scrambling, climbing, lots of crampon work over glaciers, spent two nights in mountain huts close to 3,000 metres, got nervous, suntanned and very tired!

Happily neither of us had any real problems with altitude and neither of us got hurt, although Mairi’s heels were a mess of blisters by the finish.

We had excellent guides, ate well and overall had a great experience.
